The role of the Senior Technical Writer is to provide support in authoring, reviewing, and maintaining technical and user documentation. This role is a member of the Technical Writing team and reports directly to the Technical Writing Manager with ongoing assignments to project implementations and enterprise documentation processes. This role will be responsible for leading efforts to maintain inherited documentation for the enterprise and existing customers, as well as driving the development of new process documentation and documentation-related policies, standards, and maintenance plans.


Job Responsibilities:



  • Gain and maintain a working understanding of all standard project deliverables including the document's purpose, audience, content, and maintenance cycles across multiple implementation and internal operations customers.

  • Ensure consistent application of company standards and document design across all project and internal deliverables.

  • Support other technical writers in communicating and obtaining information across functional and technical teams.

  • Function as an individual contributor, work with direct guidance when necessary, and make decisions when appropriate for assigned tasks and initiatives.

  • Create, adapt, and adopt standard templates and style guidelines to ensure consistent application of standards and alignment during document authoring, reviewing, and editing

  • Provide occasional leadership and functional supervision of other technical writers during special projects and opportunities for documentation or process improvement.

  • Demonstrate strong understanding of applicable standards and regulations pertaining to developing, reviewing, and editing

  • Demonstrate expert proficiency in Microsoft Word.

  • Possess unwavering commitment to customer service and operational

  • Request and give both negative and positive


Experience/Preferred Skills Required:



  • Bachelor's degree with 15+ years relevant Technical Writing experience. (Preferred Majors: Technical and Professional Communication, Journalism, Communications, English, or another communication-related field).

  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Word, with a working knowledge of the remaining Microsoft Office suite of applications, including SharePoint.

  • Flexible in working under the demands and needs of a fast-paced project.

  • Strong technical writing skills (clear, concise).

  • Strong grammar skills (grammar, punctuation, spelling, usage, language).

  • Strong formatting skills (understanding information layout and information design principles).

  • Functions well within in a high-performing team.

  • Comfortable occasionally operating in a leadership role with your peers.

  • Strong interest in learning new skills with the ability to quickly adapt to task or project changes.

  • Experience with software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC), it would be "a plus".

  • Experience in the healthcare industry, it would be "a plus".

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, MadCap Flare, or Adobe Creative Suite, it would be "a plus".
