Description

Reporting to the Deputy Director of Operations, the administrative assistant provides administrative support to a workgroup or individual within the University. Work will be performed under general supervision and requires completing administrative tasks, such as; screening incoming calls, correspondence, and responding independently when possible. This position is also needed to prepare records such as agendas, notices, minutes, and resolutions for corporate meetings. The administrative assistant will also compose and prepare confidential correspondence, reports, and other complex documents. Other duties such as reconciling and ensuring contractors' invoices, managing social media, listserv, and newsletters are part of the day-to-day operations. Will be expected to monitor online requests and tips.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree or combination of education and/or related experience.

Required Skills and Abilities:

*Demonstrated critical thinking, decision making, and problem-solving

*Demonstrated ability to prioritize responsibilities and flexibility to switch from one task to another

*Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel/Pivot tables, Word, PowerPoint, and other applicable computer programs

*Ability to handle calls professionally with excellent communication skills

*Demonstrated organizational skills, along with the ability to be detail-oriented, able to multi-task efficiently in an office setting

*Excellent customer service skills

*Ability to resolve varied problems under minimal supervision and within established policies and procedures

Preferred:

*Bachelor's degree

*Familiarity with police forms and procedures
