Description

The Housing Services Coordinator for Housing Operations serves as a member of the University Housing and Residential Life team and reports to the Associate Director of Housing Operations. Acts as the primary contact for the Office of Housing Operations and for the Temple community and provides resources to internal and external constituents regarding on and off campus housing. Manages housing extensions and early arrival requests and works in collaboration with campus partners. Provides direct supervision of 5-10 student staff members, directs the work of students as assigned, manages all record keeping, time collection, training and development and leads the hiring process for student staff. Responds to inquiries, advises a high volume of students regarding off campus properties, resolves complex rental issues, develops and maintains Off-Campus Living educational literature, materials, and other resources. Maintains and updates accurate information for off-campus housing website, and demonstrates knowledge of rental issues and agreements, Philadelphia License and Inspections requirements, and neighborhoods. Additionally, the Housing Services Coordinator develops and maintains working relationships with property managers and reports off campus housing issues and student demand. Collaborates with outside vendors, and assists in coordinating campus housing events, assisting with Off-Campus Housing Fairs, Open Houses, Experience Temple Days, and Orientation Resource Fairs. Serves as an information resource, assists students, staff, and public in resolving problems, refers individuals to proper sources as required and advises them of institutional and department policies and procedures. Provides departmental correspondence, including answering and screening calls, and handling requests. Performs other duties as assigned.

This role supports a comprehensive housing program for approximately 6,000 on-campus students which serves the mission of the Division of Student Affairs and Temple University and contributes to a positive university experience for every student and is accountable to all Division of Student Affairs (DoSA) Values. Please note this position will temporarily work remotely. The duration of remote work will be at the discretion of Temple University and the department.

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience, preferably in housing administration or off-campus housing. Previous office experience in a high-volume environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Required Skills and Abilities:

*Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, along with the ability to effectively interact with a diverse population of administrators, faculty, and students.

*Strong organizational, coordination and problem-solving skills.

*Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

*Demonstrated computer skills and intermediate level skills with MS Office Suite along with the ability to learn new software applications.

*Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

*Ability to follow Temple University policies, procedures, and guidelines.

*Ability to coordinate logistics and plan events.

*Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed, which includes occasional weekend dates and evenings during the year.

Preferred:

*Public speaking skills to plan and execute training presentations.

*Experience using a variety of computer database systems for inputting and tracking information such as Star Rez (student housing software), Remedy (customer inquiry tracking software) and Microsoft Office Suite.
