Job Description

The IT Project Manager will be based in Austin, TX. The IT Project Manager will be Responsible for planning and coordinating all aspects of internal information system-specific projects from initiation to delivery. Projects often involve network, server, or software implementation and upgrades, PC deployment, etc.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do…

• Coordinates projects of varying degrees of complexity from design and development to production.


• Defines resources (and resource allocation) and schedule for implementation. 


• Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.


• Performs feasibility and needs/impact assessments.


• Plan and schedule project deliverables, goals, milestones.


• Directs and oversees project team and manages conflicts within group.


• Performs team assessments and evaluations.


• Efficiently identifies and solves project issues. 


• Monitors project progress, timelines and budget constraints to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.


• Assess causes of problems and provide technical support and direction to project team to resolve issues.


• Develop Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for external services.


• Create and maintain technical and project documentation.


• Conduct presentations of technical information.


• Interact frequently with customers and/or functional peer group managers. May interact with senior management; frequently interact with middle management and individual contributor groups.


• Prepare purchase orders as per established process.

Here is some of what you’ll need (required)…

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in addition to 8 years of IT and/or project experience


• Demonstrates mastery of functional knowledge in relation to other functions and a complete understanding of the function and those of related businesses


• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.


• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference to practical situations.


• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus.


• Impacts the long-term (annual) direction and financial or operational success of the function and/or site. Approves and/or creates functional processes or technologies. Establishes and ensures effective achievement of functional strategic plans and objectives for the site. May have P&L responsibility for the function. Develops plans for structuring and implementing major initiatives.


• Defines/determines and approves functional methods, standards, policies and procedures. Makes decisions for sections/sub-functions. Makes decisions for the function and the site. Decisions may affect multiple sites.


• Recognizes and develops talent as a key element of executing operational business plans. Ensures Flextronics values are part of site work life. Provides strategic leadership for the function and the site
