Ohio Development Communications Leader at American Honda Motor Co., Inc. in Raymond, Ohio

Job Description:

Manage the internal and external communication at Honda development operations in Ohio. This includes being the point person for executive, crisis and HR communication. This position will develop business plans and communication budgets to advance associate understanding within the company. This position will also collaborate with others in the organization to achieve brand consistency, coordination of messages, and apply the highest standards for all communications. Ability to promote creative strategies and solutions while demonstrating a high degree of motivation is a vital component for this position.

Manage Ohio development internal corporate communications

• Manage Ohio development communication team in development of world-class internal communication


• Lead executive communication for Ohio development – including speechwriting and all-team meetings.


• Serve as communication point person with Ohio development leadership team in developing strategies.


• Develop strong HR and change management communication for areas in scope


• Strong collaboration on crisis communication


• Manage all internal events/announcements like line-offs, investments, and associate stories

Manage Ohio development external corporate communications

• Manage strong CSR storytelling opportunities for Ohio development


• Work with NACC and Product PR to tell compelling stories about the associates developing Honda and Acura vehicles


• Work collaboratively to tell “one-floor” stories with manufacturing and development

Perform leadership duties for all areas of responsibility

• Maintain budget


• Ability to understand, innovate and exhibit key visual communication components and consult with internal audiences and video/photography members to achieve goals within given resources


• Mentor and develop next generation communication leaders


• Understand team members and their roles and respnsibilities

• College degree in PR, Corporate Communication, or Journalism or related field required


• 10-12 years of experience


• Strong writing skills, leadership experience desired, proven ability to understand highly technical information and distill appropriately for various audiences (internal, government, media, and other external audiences), demonstrated experience with event organization
