This role is responsible for a comprehensive set of relationship management and engagement activities in support of a world class diverse supplier business development program that advances the growth of strong diverse companies that match the supplier needs of JP Morgan Chase globally and impact local communities. The SD Business Relationship Manager will work to prospect and develop vendor relationships to support a pipeline of diverse firms which are ready now or have the potential to do business with JPMC, developing rapport with category sourcing managers, maintaining accurate and timely vendor engagement information, and serving as key contact to help diverse firms navigate direct and indirect JPMC resources to help them grow - guarding our reputation with vendors and providing important feedback loop to the firm.
The ultimate goal is for JPMC's supplier diversity program is to be a consistent leader in the financial services industry while aligning with the firm's commitment to build wealth in underserved communities. The SD Business Relationship Manager will report to the SD Business Development Director and support the Business Development team's efforts to meet and exceed diverse spend goals and complement the company's broader employee and community diversity and inclusion initiatives, developing deep partnerships with internal business partners, diverse suppliers, external diversity stakeholders and community organizations.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES :
Develop and maintain exceptional end-to-end customer service relationships with current and potential diverse vendors
Partner with internal stakeholders and LOBs (lines of business) within JPMC to understand their needs, and develop strategies to meet diverse spend goals and community engagement goals
Partner with key external stakeholders to identify potential suppliers - National Minority Supplier Development Council, Women's Business Enterprise National Council, US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce, National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, National Veteran-Owned Business Association, US Business Leadership Network, The Greenlining Institute and others.
Partner with sourcing team and LOBs to create an efficient and expedited process to identify, qualify and onboard selected suppliers
Document research, vetting, and engagement activities and maintain records in Customer Relationship Management system.
Serve as key or primary contact for helping vendors navigate JPMC resources with a high touch approach, other internal teams, or external resources to support the ongoing development of the diverse vendor
Serve as key contact or primary contact for LOB referral partners who recommend diverse vendors for registration or onboarding with JPMC
Develop suppliers and identify resources needed to support the growth of diverse businesses
Identify barriers to entry for businesses and partner with internal partners to close gaps, setting them up to get more business from other customers, adding jobs, improving the community
Create and analyze new reports to go deeper on prospects matched to category opportunities, city opportunities and other targeted views
Develop targets, measurements and reporting for future initiatives (beyond the core Path Forward commitment) to mature and capture impact of the collective efforts
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE :
Strong communication, analytical and negotiation skills
The ability to develop and deliver effective senior level presentations
Proven project management, team building and public speaking skills
Experience growing strong internal and external relationships
Minimum 7 years leadership experience in vendor relations, procurement of goods and services, diversity sourcing or related areas
Strong understanding of various certifications and related processes which qualify companies as diverse
Established relationships with diverse-owned businesses with experience doing business with large corporations and are likely matches for JPMC
Proven experience in successfully managing across organizational boundaries to obtain consensus and achieve firm wide adoption of policy and or processes
Track record of meeting and exceeding business development goals
Community relations experience with diverse non-profit organizations
Experience working with supplier diversity development organizations, such as The National Minority Supplier Development Council, Women's Business Enterprise National Council, US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce, National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, National Veteran-Owned Business Association, US Business Leadership Network, and the US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
