Job Description:

Job Summary:
Responsible for performing general and preventive maintenance and repairs on all physical structures and certain facility equipment, as well as grounds maintenance in compliance with established safety rules, policies and procedures.
 

Essential Functions of the Job:
•    Perform scheduled maintenance on equipment according to manufacturer’s recommendations and operation manuals
•    Perform maintenance repairs for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, carpentry, etc.
•    Assist inspectors and contractors in the testing, inspection or repair of equipment, building and mechanical systems.
•    Respond to all emergencies such as fire, smoke, and panic alarms.
•    Complete work orders and special projects in a timely manner
•    Keep maintenance shop and storage areas neat and orderly.  
•    Maintain tools and equipment.
•    Participate in weekly on-call rotation and on call for any emergency.
 

Skills and Aptitude Required:
•    General knowledge of building and mechanical systems
•    Ability to operate hand and power tools and equipment and read common measuring instruments
•    Expertise in electrical, plumbing, carpentry and painting
•    Must be able to read, write, and follow written and verbal directions
•    Must have ability to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives of the physical plant unit. 

Education and Experience Required:
•    High school diploma or GED 
•    Graduate of accredited technical school preferred
•    Valid driver’s license
•    A minimum of two years’ hands-on maintenance and/or mechanical experience.
