Summary
Utilizes imaging equipment to conduct radiological diagnostic procedures as needed during orthopedic cases and pain management injections.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Other Duties
Effectively operate radiologic equipment. Ability to evaluate imaging results to ensure appropriate diagnostic information is obtained. Ability to evaluate, synthesize and communicate diagnostic information to the physician. Ability to communicate effectively with the patient and health care team. All employees have the responsibility of reporting adverse events or adverse incidents
AAS Radiologic Technology required
AART registration required
NYS License
2-3 years clinical experience in orthopedics preferred
Physical Demands
Activity includes balancing, lifting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, constant walking and heavy work. Finger and hand dexterity and visual and aural acuity and olfactory acuity to recognize changes in patient's condition.
Communication
Internal Contacts: Physicians, nursing staff, office staff, Excelsior Orthopedics surgery coordinators and clinical staff
External Contacts: Patients, family members, primary care physician offices, vendors and home care agency staff
Work Environment
Subject to environmental conditions, including exposure to chemicals, radiation and blood-borne pathogens.
