Fiber Optic Cable Assembler - Night Shift
New Hourly Rate - $16.00 plus Sign-On $1,000

Fiber Optic Cable Assembler is responsible for building a durable and flexible enclosure for exposed fiber optic cable by hand according to specific procedural guidelines and meeting strict tolerances.

What you'll do:

Interprets the Production Work Order/Build Plan to determine exact fibers required
Removes cable sheath, buffer tube and pulls individual fibers out to be spliced
This position also utilizes a scalpel to remove buffer tube and other sharp instruments, extreme caution must be used to avoid serious cuts
Reads and understands technical drawings, schematics, and documentation
Accurately and consistently distinguishes electrical color and performs other tasks that involve recognition of unique colors
Under supervision, performs fiber optic assembler procedures.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent
Some experience preferred, willing to train
Possesses basic understanding of electromechanical processes
Works effectively with very fine and delicate optical fibers

· The employee frequently is required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
