Job Summary: Consultant I is an entry level position in the Strategic Consulting Sector. This position will be part of a team engaging with clients across multiple market sectors in support of client objectives in the areas of Asset Management, Sustainability, Organizational Performance, Process Improvement, Assessment, Business Process Reengineering, and related studies and analyses.



Essential Functions: Consultants help organizations to solve issues, create value, maximize growth and improve the business performance of their clients. They are primarily concerned with the strategy, structure, management and operations of an organization. They will identify options for the organization and suggest recommendations for change, as well as helping with additional resources to implement solutions.


Services may include strategic planning, process improvement, data analytics, policy development, communication, change management, inventory, condition assessment, financial analysis and program development. They use their business skills to provide objective advice, expertise and specialist skills which the organization may be lacking. This individual will have demonstrated experience and expertise in developing successful approaches to public and private sector clients that are consistent with the capabilities, services, and expertise within Woolpert.


Projects or technical expertise associated with consulting or a related field, may include planning, environmental services, program management, asset management, or related services. Projects may include leadership, strategic planning, business process improvement, program management, energy and sustainability, resiliency, portfolio management, asset management advisory services, and related consulting services for the large public and private sector clients.


Required Qualifications:



  • BA/BS degree in related field.

  • Proven and dynamic leadership capabilities.

  • Demonstrated understanding of business management abilities.

  • Must be able to travel to meet the needs and demands of the project.

  • Functional expertise in the use of basic automation systems (Microsoft Office or equivalent).

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and be self-directed.

  • Proven ability to work within a collaborative, team environment and coordinate activities between program components.

  • Ability to interact with senior personnel and effectively manage and supervise a staff.





Preferred Qualifications:



  • Previous experience providing consulting services to similar clients

  • Experience or expertise in a large consulting practice provide work types and services similar to those of service offering competitors (BAH, PwC, Deloitte, McKinsey, KPMG, BCG, etc)

  • Demonstrated ability through previous service to develop and execute key opportunities with identified clients.

  • National level exposure and relationships in relevant consulting organizations (IFMA, IDRC, BSI, ASTM, SAME, etc)



Resulting Physical Qualifications:



  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to operate and manipulate standard office equipment.

  • Must be able to occasionally reach, bend, climb and/or balance.

  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

  • Must be able to travel as required.
