Overview

Join the ArcGIS StoryMaps team and help us build a new digital storytelling tool with unprecedented mapping capabilities. Authors around the world use story maps to drive change, influence opinion, and create awareness with their stories getting millions of pageviews a day.

You will work with designers and developers to design, build, and run a cutting-edge responsive web application and native mobile apps. You will be involved at every stage of product development, from brainstorming broad ideas to ensuring quality through launch. Using your full range of product engineering, communication, and product thinking skills, you will be responsible for delivering a stable and useful product that meets customer needs.

As a qualified candidate, you have a track record of leading projects to successful outcomes for users and the business. You are a strong cross-functional partner and a great communicator and can take a solution from idea to implementation. You uphold a high standard of quality, have a strong appreciation for the details, and understand the value of clear communication. Above all, you approach problems holistically and create elegantly simple solutions to multi-faceted problems.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with designers and developers to build a web app and native mobile apps
• Assist in product planning and releases


• Provide operational support to the development team


• Engage with customers for problem solving and product feedback


• Lead customer success efforts by creating user guides, product documentation, and other resources


• Assist in assessing product quality and release readiness

Requirements

• 2+ years of product engineering experience


• Demonstrated experience in building customer-focused products


• Passion for data-driven product and design decisions with the ability to give and receive feedback constructively


• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the English language, including presentation skills


• Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to change


• Good interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to work in cooperative team environments and take initiative to help when needed


• A bachelor's or higher in software engineering, GIS, or related field, depending on position level

Recommended Qualifications

• Knowledge of software localization, internationalization, and accessibility


• Experience in software engineering or design


• Consumer software marketing background
