Morgan Truck Body has an excellent career opportunity for a Business Analyst with expertise in Purchasing/Procurement. We will consider a flexible/part-time remote work arrangement or relocation for this position.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to Director of Purchasing and Business Support , the Business Analyst - Procurement will provide analytical support to the procurement function.

Key responsibilities include tracking actual performance against budgeted targets, support data analysis, monthly closing, and reporting.

The Analyst will be a key contributor to the strategic planning process, annual budgeting process and updated forecasting. Outstanding analytical and communication skills are critical to the success of this position.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with Purchasing Department to track key purchasing initiatives including the international sourcing program, perform make versus buy analysis and establish a vendor scorecard to monitor vendor performance.
  • Coordinate the purchasing projections for the strategic plan, annual budget and updated forecast and track actual performance against agreed plan.
  • Analyze key cost drivers, spend by vendor and other factors influencing total cost of materials.
  • Maintain Purchasing data in DATA3 (item master file, vendor master file, PPV file and etc.)
  • Provide analytical support to Purchasing and create ad-hoc reports.
  • Review purchasing transactions regularly and communicate each transaction owner for improvement.
  • Participate in monthly closing, reporting, and executive summary.
  • Prepare and present monthly report summarizing key business initiatives including wins, losses and lessons learned.
  • Track market driven cost movements and impact on business.
  • Participate in price committee to determine pricing actions required to recover market driven cost movements and maintain margins.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • EXPERTISE REQUIRED:


    • Bachelor's degree in finance or related field is required. Advanced degree (MBA) in finance or related field is preferred.
    • 1~3 years of purchasing experience.
    • Ability to understand broader business issues and the cause-effect relationships within each functional area.
    • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Good understanding of ERP & MRP system. JDE experience is a plus.
    • Understanding of Lean principles and ability to streamline operations.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Working in an office environment in a seated position a minimum of eight hours per day is required.

    The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
