Institutional clients have long turned to ISS to apply their corporate governance views, identify environmental, social and governance risk, and manage their complete proxy voting needs on a global basis. ISS covers approximately 44,000 meetings in 115 countries yearly, delivering proxy research and vote recommendations while working closely with clients to execute more than 10.2 million ballots representing 4.2 trillion shares.

Position Overview:

ISS is offering an exciting, creative, team-oriented product environment for someone looking to advance their career in financial services product management. We are immediately seeking a Governance & Stewardship Product Manager to manage existing and new products critical to the growth of the Governance Research and Voting Business.

The Governance & Stewardship Product Manager will be responsible for all stages of the product life cycle, from partnering with Business Leads, Client Success, Research, Sales, Operations, and other key constituents within the Governance Research and Voting Business to identify opportunities, design and write requirements, conduct client consultations and business validation, and manage projects from inception to launch. The Product Manager will also collaborate closely with Development, UI Design, Testing (QBIT) and Application Management teams to ensure successful product launches.

The position provides opportunities to work directly with our institutional clients and prospects in conjunction with the Client Success and Sales teams. Client interaction includes providing both virtual and on-site product demonstrations in support of product launches and new sales opportunities, consultations to understand client workflow, and presenting product road maps during client visits.

The Role:

A product specialist to join our Product Management team in the Governance Research and Voting Business.

  • Develop and write business requirements for Governance Research and Voting Business, define test procedures, create and implement training and quality assurance plans, and obtaining user acceptance
  • Partner with institutional business teams to refine and evolve product strategy, identify new product opportunities and determine priorities for enhancing capabilities and maximizing revenues of ISS Governance Research and Voting Business solutions
  • Assess industry trends, client needs (including solution identification) and competitive landscape for Governance Research and Voting Business through market research and competitive intelligence assessments
  • Serve as the content expert supporting account management and sales teams to present product solutions to prospects and clients
  • Lead cross functional resources in a project management capacity to enable timely product launches
  • Represent ISS in various client and market forums, including hosting webcasts and presenting at client events


Requirements:
  • Deep experience in requirements writing
  • Superior analysis, presentation and communication skills
  • Excellent project management and time-management skills
  • Strong leadership skills, able to work well in a cross-functional team environment
  • Strong background in understanding and servicing clients
  • Understanding of the corporate governance landscape a plus
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business
  • Minimum of five years-experience in corporate governance or related field
  • Travel: Up to quarterly (if hire is in an office location near clients, there could be more direct, local interaction with clients in that area)
