Responsibilities/Duties

    Develop, maintain and expand Commercial Banking relationships within assigned team by actively selling and promoting corporate products to potential and existing customers. The primary focus is to retain and organically grow the assigned relationships.
  • Possesses knowledge of loan, deposit and cash management products in order to suggest products to new customers and cross sell existing customers.

  • Analyze, structure, recommend and submit loans for approval to appropriate approving authority or loan committee.

  • Act as the Primary Relationship Manager to a large portfolio of commercial loan and deposit relationships. Oversees and directs other Firstrust team members to provide appropriate products and customer service to implement customer relationship plans.

  • Properly document and close approved loan requests in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, bank policies and sound banking practices.

  • Review loan and deposit accounting system information and reports to ensure that assigned commercial banking assets and liabilities are set up and accounted for correctly.

  • Monitor assigned loan portfolios on an ongoing basis for delinquency, document follow-up, covenant compliance, ongoing financial reporting, renewals, and additional information as required.

  • Represents Firstrust in the Community by actively developing Referral Sources and Centers of Influence.

Essential Functions

While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to drive a motor vehicle, attending meetings at various venues, including but not limited to customers' offices and/or properties, restaurants and other meeting locations, and ascend/descend stairs and or ladders occasionally to perform inspections. The employee may be required to lift files/materials up to 20 pounds to take to various locations. The incumbent will be expected to operate a computer terminal and exchange information. The ability to utilize standard office including phone, fax and copier are essential.

Knowledge - Skills & Abilities

DECISION MAKING:

Makes decisions to recommend or decline commercial banking loan requests and also recommends appropriate additional product sales to new and existing relationships. Makes decisions on a daily basis regarding the quality, accuracy and correctness of financial and other business information presented to Firstrust by customers, prospects and others in regard to the underwriting process and the ongoing monitoring of a commercial banking portfolio.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

This position is accountable to the SVP/Team Leader - Commercial Banking, and is responsible for ensuring that Business Development and Relationship Management are conducted in the highest professional manner consistent with the policies and procedures of Firstrust, applicable laws and regulations, and sound banking practices.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or Related Field preferred. Participation in a formal credit training program required.

  • Goal oriented with 7 to 10 years Commercial Banking experience.

  • Good business development skills within the framework of carrying a large portfolio of accounts.

  • Sound knowledge of commercial lending practices, compliance issues, and underwriting skills.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills.

  • Intermediate computer skills in the Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)

Specific goals will be set annually in writing with SVP/Team Leader - Commercial Banking.
