Order Specifications Analyst, Central Quality
Cleveland-Cliffs is the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America. The company is vertically integrated from mining through iron making, steelmaking, rolling, finishing and downstream with hot and cold stamping of steel parts and components.
As the order entry analyst (OSA), central quality, you will be responsible for performing a high-level purchase order review in which customer purchase orders and automotive contracts are translated into internal specification nomenclature, evaluated for qualification status, and reviewed against mill capability and/or inquired. Based on these criteria, the OSA will suggest allocation to one or more facilities and work closely with Corporate Planning, Sales, Plant QA, and Operations. This position will also initiate and follow-up on inquiries to Plant Quality and work on different team projects within Quality. A successful candidate for this position needs to have the ability to work independently as well as with a team to meet internal metrics, ensure external customer satisfaction, and work towards internal standardization.
ResponsibilitiesTechnical review of Queues (PO) and Parts (contracts) for compliance and assignment of capable / qualified facilities
- Assignment and follow-up on "Held" Queues / Parts that require either clarification or a revision when technical values are incorrect. Work with Inside Sales Rep or Account Manager to obtain the necessary information to release the Hold.
- Enter OSA Inquiries to Plant Quality for technical questions or size limitation approval.
- Review and compare Purchase Orders that have bypassed the OSA step to ensure correct values have been assigned in the Queue.
- Review and update Queues that have been identified by Error Order Review with the correct resolution.
- Review and assignment of Part Transfers for orders being transferred from one mill to another.
- Review and compare the PO values to the values entered into the Que panel to ensure that the correct Book/Spec/Grade has been assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Associates degree or equivalent experience.
- Working knowledge and aptitude in Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Cold Rolled, Galvanized and HR Product Knowledge
- Knowledge of Customer Base
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Proficient in using a legacy business system.
- Quality Assurance and/or Customer Specification knowledge
- Customer Service or Planning background
- Flat Carbon product or process experience
- Familiarity with Microsoft Access or SQL
