What You'll Do

About this role:The General Production 2 is responsible performing general production duties ranging from performing repetitive bench/line assembly operations; performing repetitive upholstery tasks such as cutting, sewing and finishing to make custom seats; and operating a spray painter to apply powder coat finishes on parts. All tasks must be performed under an established time frame.This position reports to an Operations Supervisor and relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.General Production employees can rotate to other production areas of the business as needed. This position works Monday through Thursday with a 10-hour shift. Occasional overtime or Friday work may be necessary.

You will be responsible for:

• Place parts in specified relationship to each other. Bolt, clip, screw, tap, press or otherwise fasten parts together using supported portable air tools (tool balancers), power and hand tools.


• May tend machines, such as arbor presses and small scale, dual-palm initiated, hydraulic presses to perform fitting or fastening operations on assembly line.


• Operate various portable hand, power and air tools, i.e., screw drivers, wrenches, sockets, calipers, clamping devices, grinders, hand drills, belt sanders.


• Load/unload mild steel and aluminum work pieces and parts.


• Load/unload mild steel and aluminum work pieces and parts from bins and carts.


• Operate material handling equipment including ergonomic lifting devices, mechanical hoists, air lifts, pallet jacks, utility carts, and hand trucks.


• May be required to operate tier lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.


• Follow all safety rules, policies and safe work practices.


• Keep area neat and in order.


• Inspect, clean, and maintain machines, tools, parts, stock, equipment and work area (uses petroleum products and general cleaners, i.e., mineral oil, simple green, hydraulic fluid).


• Report damage, wear, tear and other potential defects.


• Keep area stocked with supplies.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in the role:

• High school diploma or GED required.


• Minimum 1 year manufacturing experience.


• Demonstrated knowledge of safety procedures.


• Anticipate, identify, and resolve problems in a timely manner


• Effectively communicate ideas


• Listen to others and appropriately act on information provided


• Read and understand written instructions, department paperwork & safety information


• Perform basic math


• Operate hand tools and equipment such as: cone or nozzle-type electrostatic painting equipment, supported air tools, portable power tools, hand tools, bench-top presses, arbor presses, hoists, wheeled carts & bins, pallet jacks and other material handling equipment


• Work effectively in a fast-paced environment and keep up with time-sensitive operations


• Work effectively in a team environment


• Act in a courteous and professional manner at all times
