Summary Second (Intermediate) level of CNC machining center operator. Requires the ability to follow written instructions and understand blueprint specifications. Sets up, adjusts, and checks to program. Operates and adjusts semi-automatic or automatic numerically controlled machine tools to perform a series of progressive machining operations on repetitive work to close and exact tolerances and finish specifications requiring considerable skill.

Follows proper operating procedures and maintains proper records in accordance with the plant management system.
Follows all safety guidelines including utilization of proper PPE.
Keeps work area clean and organized to ensure safety and environmental compliance.
Proficient in operations including boring, milling, and turning.
Works from programming instructions, operational data, and machine setup information including material clamping methods, machine calibrations, and console settings for operations such as bore, mill, drill, face, thread, and profiling and contouring.
Ability to operate multiple areas of production to standard consistently.
Performs checks using a variety of gauges and fixtures to ensure conformance to specifications.
Ability to use common hand tools.
Maintains maximum levels of production through proper operation of machinery.
Ensure quality parts while minimizing scrap and rework through proper in-process inspection.
Ensure maximum quality is maintained on all parts being produced through proper use of measuring devices.
Maintain simple records to avoid costly errors.
Performs machine set-ups, tool offsets, and edits programs with minimal supervision.
Recognize & resolves tooling wear problems.
Demonstrates positive relations and teamwork as established in the IMI Way and Leadership Blueprint within the organization.

Qualifications Education and Experience
High school diploma/GED
Basic math skills
Basic knowledge of GD& T principles
Blueprint reading skills
Advanced measurement skills including calipers, height gauges, micrometers, shadowgraph, and bore gauges
2+ years of related experience
Computers and Technology To perform this job successfully, an individual must have knowledge of basic computer skills.
