INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGNER at University of Oklahoma in Norman, Oklahoma

Job Description:

The Instructional Designer provides effective pedagogical consulting and design support to faculty, assisting with the construction of online course design elements within the university learning management system. This position is responsible for supporting faculty and subject matter experts in the design of engaging, experiential online learning experiences, to include the creation of interactive learning objects and dynamic courseware. They have experience collaborating closely with groups of stakeholders, to include faculty, designers (course designers, visual designers, video-graphers), and university partners.

Required Education: Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND:


  • 0-24 months of professional faculty development experience

Skills:


  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines

  • Able to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty and staff

  • Able to work well with interdepartmental teams and initiatives

  • Demonstrated expertise in instructional/course design and learning theories

  • Demonstrated expertise in integration of learning technologies to enhance student learning

  • Proficiency in designing, developing and evaluating instructional materials and programs

  • Proficiency in writing learning objectives, designing lessons, and developing assessment instruments that measure student learning

  • Ability to analyze teaching/learning materials and other data for consultation purposes

  • Must be able to create and deliver effective training presentations

  • None

Advertised Physical Requirements:


  • Must be able to communicate effectively, engage in repetitive motions, touch and grasp.

Departmental Preferences:


  • Doctorate degree

  • Experience teaching at a traditional University
