Associate Director, Technical Accounting at Genmab in Princeton, New Jersey

The Role

Genmab is looking for an Associate Director, Technical Accounting to be part of the global accounting and finance team. This is a newly established position based in our Princeton, NJ location. This position will report to the Director, Technical Accounting.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice to the Genmab business on the accounting treatment and structures related to collaboration agreements and other M&A transactions
  
  


• Analyze/research accounting transactions for proper accounting treatment under IFRS and document conclusions in accounting memos
  
  


• Assist in the implementation of an ERP system related to technical accounting areas
  
  


• Provide support to senior management by evaluating the accounting and financial implications of new accounting pronouncements
  
  


• Assist in the preparation of year-end and quarter-end reporting by working with external auditors on annual audits and quarterly reviews as well as facilitate the filing of quarterly and annual reports
  
  


• Research/interpretation of external reporting requirements, including assistance in the review of disclosure checklists
  
  


• Assist in establishing and documenting effective internal controls and procedures
  
  


• Assist in development of accounting policies under IFRS
  
  


• Working collaboratively cross functionally across various business functions throughout the organization as it relates to the above responsibilities
  
  


• Coordination and communication with external auditors and consultants related to the above responsibilities
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (CPA strongly desired)
  
  


• 6-8 years' experience. Big-4 public accounting and pharmaceutical experience strongly desired
  
  


• Able to perform technical accounting research, including the documentation and communication of accounting implications
  
  


• Solid analytical skills and ability to develop solutions
  
  


• Strong attention to detail and ability to work through various issues
  
  


• Strong communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills
  
  


• Strong project management skills; ability to juggle and prioritize multiple work streams
  
  


• Solid Excel and Powerpoint skills
  
  


• High sense of urgency and ability to identify creative solutions to advanced, time sensitive problems by balancing achievement of corporate objectives with practical considerations
  
  


• Commitment to delivering quality results and overcoming obstacles and challenges in a time-sensitive environment
  
  


• Experience with SAP S4 HANA a plus
