Summary

This individual shall work in the Mechanical Design Development Group and be responsible for the development of coolers and their fabrication process, including design, drawings, simulation to predict performance and improvements by iteration. The individual is required to be a self-starter, work independently and be motivated to come up with innovative ideas and to achieve accurate and high-quality results.

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility to coordinate cooler manufacturing for research and development projects including scheduling, preparation of prototype production with vendors and technical ownership of development coolers within production area


• Developing drawings for new coolers and improvements on existing ones


• Propose new fabrication techniques and execute projects to demonstrate enhanced performance in product utilizing these improvements


• Responsible to develop and improve critical processes for use in existing and/or future products


• Responsible to analyze and organize data, draw correlations from complex process interactions and present results in a concise clear manner


• Responsible to coordinate various process owners to qualify new coolers from internal or external sources. Provide technical assessment based on simulation, yield and life test.


• Responsible for driving transfer of new cooler products in production as required


• Support development and production engineers on many aspects of product development and production support activities

Position Requirements

• At least 2 years hands on experience of FEA and CFD (Solid Works Simulation, Comsol Multi Physics etc)


• Design for manufacturing proficiency,experience with PDM systems (SAP etc.)


• Demonstrated experience in cooler modeling, design, fabrication, and testing


• Strong working knowledge of associated materials including industry-leading and current challenges


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills


• Excellent problem solving skills based on an analytical approach to tasks.


• SPC, DOE, and additional experience in cooler fabrication processes (DBC, diffusion bonding, photo etching, Wire EDM, 3D printing, mounting, testing, etc) is a plus.


• Experience in a manufacturing environment is a strong plus.

Education

MS or higher degree in mechanical engineering with an emphasis on simulation tools.
