Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic Sr. Manager/Manager, Commercial Trainingto join our growing Commercial team. The Sr. Manager/Manager, Commercial Trainingwill be responsible for supporting the execution and implementation of the Commercial Training Strategic Plan supporting our mission, vision and key business priorities. The Sr. Manager of Commercial Training will support the development and delivery of various Commercial Training initiatives supporting marketing, sales, patient support and market access departments
Key Responsibilities
Training Development
Analyzes training needs and develops training curriculum with direction from Director of Training to enhance product knowledge, clinical knowledge, account management, selling skills and negotiation skills
Enhances organizational execution through creating and delivering both foundational and advanced skills training in collaboration with the Director of Commercial Training
Develops sales meeting content. In collaboration with senior sales leadership, director of commercial training and marketing team. Identifies and prioritizes national and regional sales meeting goals and objectives, creates training plan, develops content, workshops, agendas/manages timelines
Develops and delivers train-the-trainer programs to ensure consistent execution of content at national and regional level
Develops training materials, Field Direction Guides (with marketing), sales training backgrounders, competitive backgrounders, and market updates to support brand strategy
Frequent training facilitation (virtual and live) and informal/formal presentations to senior management, sales organization and other internal functions
Works cross-functionally within Agios Organization by building strong relationships
Acts as project lead for ongoing training initiatives
Collaborates with internal and external resources to create or source content and/or solutions
Additional Responsibilities (LMS, Reporting and Logistics)
Manages and administrates the LMS System (ComplianceWire) for the commercial organization including uploading and testing content, creating user groups and managing reporting within the system
Supports the ongoing development, implementation, review and revision of all commercial training materials ensuring most recent version is active and being used
Monitors and synthesizes data to evaluate training effectiveness; identify gaps and make recommendations for improvements
Ensures initiatives are well designed, planned and communicated; create communications, stakeholder socialization and progress reporting materials
Supports the new hire commercial onboarding process
Manages and provides all logistical support for both virtual and live training events including but not limited to launch meetings, national sales meetings and regional events
Qualifications
Must thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders, execute key tactics against critical ability to analyze complex issues to develop relevant and realistic plans, programs and recommendations. Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action; excellent analytical skills and an ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way and to orchestrate plans to resolve issues and mitigate risks.
Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred (MBA or Masters within Learning, education, instructional design as examples)
3-4 years' experience in Learning and Development/Training within Biotech/Pharma industry
5-7 years' experience within Commercial organization of Biotech/Pharma industry preferred
Solid project management skills, vendor management and results orientation.
Experience administrating a Learning Management System
Strong team player that has a partnership and collaboration mindset and is solution oriented
Attention to detail and the ability to work independently, within a multi-disciplinary team, as well as with external partners and vendors
