Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA's metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. The Broadband Plasma Division (BBP) provides market-leading patterned wafer optical inspection systems for leading-edge IC manufacturing. Logic, foundry, and memory customers depend on BBP products to detect yield-critical defects for process debug and excursion monitoring at advanced process nodes. BBP flagship products include the 29xx and 39xx series which leverage Broadband Plasma technology to capture a wide range of defects with ultimate sensitivity at the optical inspection speeds needed for inline defect monitoring.

The Broadband Plasma Division (BBP) provides market-leading patterned wafer optical inspection systems for leading-edge IC manufacturing. BBP flagship products include the 29xx and 39xx series which utilize Broadband Plasma technology to capture a wide range of defects with ultimate sensitivity at the optical inspection speeds needed for inline defect monitoring.


  • You will be part of a machine learning / analysis group that develops algorithms and software solutions that improve the performance of wafer inspection tools.


  • Your responsibilities will include: (a) data/problem analysis, (b) researching the solution space, (c) developing concepts, (d) prototyping and validating concepts, (e) specifying software requirements, (d) designing, implementing and testing KLA wafer inspection software and algorithmic solutions (productization/programming)


Prefer Qualifications:


  • Ph.D. or Master's level degree in CS, EE, or quantitative fields (Mathematics, Statistics, or Physics) with at least 2 years of experience, or Bachelor's level degree in the same fields + demonstrable academic achievements, and 3+ years of solid professional accomplishments (papers, patents, major projects/contributions, etc.)


  • Analytical skills, problem-solving skills (quantitative & algorithmic)


  • Interest in algorithm development & programming


  • Ability to work in a team, and contribute to the team effort


  • Proficiency in C++, Python, or Matlab


  • Knowledge of CUDA programming and GPU optimization is desirable


  • Good demonstrated programming skills are desirable


Minimum Qualifications

  • BS + 2 yr, MS +0 yr.
