Job Description:

Arhaus is looking for an Assistant Product Developer to join the Wood Product Development Team. The Assistant Product Developer reports to a Product Developer and is tasked with assisting in all components of the product development process for assigned categories.  The Assistant Product Developer works in concert with senior management, store operations, marketing, planning and merchandising to introduce new products into the Arhaus assortment.  This individual will need to be highly motivated, proactive and have the ability to wear multiple hats in a highly dynamic and fast-moving business. The desired candidate will have 1-3 years of comparable experience in design, merchandising and/or product development and exhibit a refined taste and the ability to understand and reflect the Arhaus brand. This key position will assist in the administration needs for the entire product development cycle of the Bedroom and Wall team.


 


RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Work with vendors to gather and compile product info across all categories and input this information into Marketing Docs, Product Information System and Assortment plans.

  • Sample PO management followed by management of Sample Trackers for Bedroom and Wall categories, monitoring each sample from vendor to Arhaus warehouse, informing PD team of any changes in tracker.

  • Work closely with web team to ensure that product is launched in a timely manner and is accurately represented on the Arhaus website.

  • Assist in specifying product packaging and, in conjunction with the QC team, ensuring compliance of product quality and packaging when initial sample arrives into warehouse.

  • Work closely with Sourcing and QC teams to resolve any quality concerns with new and existing products.

  • Assist in proofing product information for catalog and web copy

  • Manage compiling information for assortment plans seasonally from start to finish

  • Manage the transfer of new product samples to sample room, photo studio and catalog photoshoots

  • Assist in monitoring market trends along with PD management and provide well-informed feedback and ideas for new product ideas

  • Manage all material references shipped to vendors, maintain finish/material libraries.

  • Work closely with Product Developer and VP for direction on new product that addresses market and internal assortment needs.

  • Assist in the building and maintenance of vendor relationships to accomplish goals

 


REQUIREMENTS



  1. Four-year college degree in design, merchandising or related field.

  2. Previous buying or management experience in a retail setting is a plus.

  3. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs and Outlook

  4. Able and willing to travel if needed.
