Department Description
The strategic projects function is focused on large scale change initiatives to address industry, client and business requirements globally as they impact the Markets, Securities Services and Treasury Services businesses. The group provides a unique mix of project skills and product experience that are not tied to a specific business enabling it to provide a consistent, high-quality and responsive approach to the way we manage and execute change.

Overview

Our objective is to support the creation of our in house Securities Processing Platform, FTPS. Our current focus is to support our North American fixed income business. This role will support the implementation of the control infrastructure , including the design and creation of the various controls required to support the conversion.

Key roles and responsibilities:


  • Partner with technology, finance, and operational leads to support:

    • The creation of the conversion methodology
    • The documentation of each conversion process by transaction type, including defining data attribute scope
    • Defining and documenting the interim controls and tooling required to support each phase of the conversion
    • The testing governance of each mock conversion ahead of eventual go live
    • Documenting the requirements for FTPS control architecture, covering internal, external, and technical controls

  • Run project meetings and ensure risks and issues are effectively escalated and monitored: Creation of status reports, to assist in communicating updates to management, is also required.
  • Demonstrate a strong Control and Risk awareness in helping to establish the control governance. This will include working with operational and financial leads to define requirements for new controls and the uplifting of existing controls as part of this multi-year migration
  • Process Reengineering - Ability to evaluate requirements and challenge status quo, to ensure processes are inline with future state architecture

Skills Required


  • Prior experience of large scale front-to-back, full lifecycle projects
  • Experience of Fixed Income products and processes in the North American market a plus
  • Experience in control or reconciliations, including the development of controls a plus
  • Strong organization, communication, and problem solving skills required
  • Proven Business analysis skill set: Requirement definition, Business Process Mapping BPMN 2.0, Problem solving, data analysis
  • Experience working within an Agile development lifecycle
  • Experience working with geographically distributed and culturally diverse work-groups
  • Excellent communication, presentation (both oral and written) & influencing skills
  • Effective change management skills, including the ability to support & adapt within a changing environment
  • Knowledge and experience using various desktop and project management tools such as Microsoft Project, PitchPro, Excel
