The position is on a team of five who are collectively responsible for reporting issuer default exposure risk to Market Risk managers and senior management on a daily, weekly and quarterly basis. The team also manages the quality of reported data and coordinates ongoing efforts to improve data quality. The successful candidate will be relied upon to produce risk reports on a regular basis, identify and resolve data quality issues, conduct testing of the new reporting application and infrastructure.
As an associate within SNPR, you will be involved in a variety of activities cross the SNPR team.
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Analyze issuer default exposure risk results and produce firmwide limits usage summary reports on a regular basis
Participate in the limit breaches management process: validate, escalate, and facilitate the resolution of firmwide and LOB limit breaches
Analyze and produce regulatory reports including Legal entity top 20 issuers report, Fed top 50, CCAR IDR JTD and Trading IDL data
Work with Market Risk coverage and Risk Technology groups to review and validate business requirements
Lead and/or participate to cross-functional projects to support the implementation of new business logics, resolution of data quality issues, onboarding of new risk measures, and creation of new reports
Implement robust quality assurance checks and controls through the reporting processes
Conduct UAT and Production testing for new reporting applications
Proactively identify, track and remediate data quality issues with position and reference data
Develop and automate reports and processes using BI tools such as Alteryx system etc.
Manage SNPR queries and query log
Participate in ad-hoc internal and external requests
Qualifications
At least four years of experience with the financial industry preferred
Strong control awareness
Strong knowledge of products that generate issuer default exposure risk e.g., fixed income securities, equities, credit derivatives, etc. preferred
Detail oriented, strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
Ability to build and maintain partnerships within the various Market Risk coverage teams, Market Risk Middle Office, reference data teams, Risk Technology, and Risk Reporting
Ability to work and solve problems independently, and be able to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment
Very proficient and experienced in Microsoft Excel including using advanced formulas, creating pivot tables and proficiency in other Microsoft products including PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc.
Experience in using Bloomberg and Eikon Reuters preferred
Good team player who can work well with colleagues of various levels
Self-motivated and comfortable working with large amounts of data
Data management and report automation experience using BI tools such as Alteryx is a plus
