Sr. Finance Analyst (Co-Pilot)

Job Description

As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will support the achievement of Revenue, Profit, and Share targets through efficient and effective management of Trade Dollars for a Sales Team(s). Perform analysis of NPPC Trade Funds (checkbook management, customer and vendor payments, deductions) to ensure spending remains within established budgets, and is executed in a manner compliant with Finance and Control guidelines. Review and maintain checkbook entries to ensure accuracy of required dates, event lead times, and uplifts to enable accurate sales and trade forecasting at customer team, region, and Purina Sales levels.

Co-piloting with Purina Sales, to drive desired business results in a more effective and efficient manner is what will keep Nestlé Purina as a leader in the market.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Co-piloting with Purina Sales


  • Participate in Business and Customer Team planning to increase sales, profit and share
  • Provide customer insights from Financial Reports to assist in customer business planning and development for customers
  • Plan, verify, and reconcile team budgeting process on establishing sales objectives, profit goals and trade spend levels
  • Financial Training and Development - imbed financial knowledge and competencies across sales team(s)
  • Oversee Checkbook Management for multiple customers, some strategic. To include supervising deduction and unsaleable budgets
  • Oversee, review and train for continuous improvement financial best practices to include improvements on Trade Management Tool and ROI on trade dollars
  • Provide financial insights needed to support ICBP, JBP and QBR activities.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Provide Account/Team Sales/Profit/Financial Management reporting, tracking and forecasting
  • Collaborate with Sales Team on key customer insights and opportunities, and identify under-performing investments and propose modifications or replacements that deliver better results
  • Ensure accurate entry into trade management tool (TMT) of event dates, forecast uplift, lead times, and budgeted / actual spend. Oversee day-to-day TMT transactions, including deposits, transfers, check writing, etc.
  • Identify and share growth opportunities; recommend funding strategies to support

Improving Trade Effectiveness

  • Provide financial insights needed to support ICBP, JBP and QBR activities. Plan and execute analysis to identify key trends, improvement opportunities and implications to short and long-term business target attainment
  • Improve trade spend effectiveness by analyzing results of completed events; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to the Sales and Finance teams
  • Full engagement and support of Sales Finance key projects, which may include working on the project team

    • Trade Decision Review, TruLift or Osprey


Skills:

  • Financial Analysis/Management skills/Business development skills
  • Project Management / Resource Allocation skills
  • Data analysis and PC Skills (in-depth knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Business Objects, Nielsen, TMT, Pricing and Promotion Explorer and SAP reporting and analysis

Travel as necessary to support assigned customer teams.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum):

Education:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field from an accredited institution required

Experience (Years/Type):

  • 3 plus years business analytical skills required
  • Consumer package goods industry experience preferred
  • Advanced excel functionality experience; pivot tables, v-lookup, and logical formatting, is preferred
