Who we are looking for

State Street’s Securities Finance (SF) division is functionally organized into three main areas – Business Development (BD), Client Management (CM) and Trading – in addition to many support and management functions that span Securities Finance’s evolving product suite that includes: Agency Lending (AL), Enhanced Custody (EC) and Alternative Financing Solutions (AFS).  Our SF Business Unit (BU) Analytics & Strategy group is the center point of business strategy & administration, financial planning & analysis, and executive communication & reporting for the global SF division which produces approximately $400 M in revenue annually.

The SF BU Analytics & Strategy team is, dynamic, analytical, and has excellent communication skills as we interact with senior leadership within the organization daily. We are looking for a senior analyst based in either Jersey City or Boston that will serve as a crucial conduit with senior management, driving key analytics and strategy to optimize Securities Finance’s growth.  You are a detail-oriented, quick learner who has the demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced trading floor environment. You are a critical thinker with superior analytical skills.  In addition, you are a strong communicator (both verbally and written) who is willing to engage with all levels of the SF organization. You have a go-getter, problem solving attitude and are someone that will go the extra mile for the organization.

What you will be responsible for

As Securities Finance Strategy and Analytics Specialist, VP you will

• Working for / with Global Head of SF Analytics & Strategy and Executive Management to identify and execute strategic initiatives to optimize and grow the business


• Create, execute and present comprehensive analytics in easy-to-interpret reports around our regulatory constraints (LCR / CCST / RWA / etc.)


• Optimize and create efficiencies within the Securities Finance forecast and budgeting process


• Develop and coordinate key messaging to internal and external stakeholders in PowerPoint (e.g. executive management, investor relations, etc.)

In addition – you will continuously be challenged to innovate and explore ways to improve current Securities Finance systems and processes utilizing your quantitative skills. 

Finally – you will be part of the broader SF ecosystem that is composed of all three products. SF places a strong emphasis on collaboration and talent development, and there will be many opportunities to work closely with our Business Development, Client Management, Algorithmic & Flow Trading, Technology, Operations and Risk teams.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience in a similar field required; Securities Finance knowledge is preferred


• Excellent communication (written and verbal) & interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with multiple levels of the organization


• Superior problem solving and analytical skills


• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment


• Strong organizational skills, time management skills and attention to detail


• Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team


• Strong Microsoft Excel skills


• Preferred experience in Python, SQL or an equivalent programming language or a demonstrable willingness to learn


• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
