The Program Manager for Construction Project Management is responsible for leading and developing the Project Management Team. S/he mentors and supports Project Managers in developing and managing to project plans including scope, schedule, budget and expectations leading to successful project execution and outcomes. The Program Manager will collaborate with Sales and Operations Leadership to build best practices, growth strategies and resources plans.

The Program Manger is responsible for managing, training, developing and mentoring direct and indirect reports. The Program Manager will work closely with Regional Sales and Operations Leadership for coordination of business goals, while managing utilization, work load, best practices and lessons learned.

PRIMARY DUTIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily.

Responsible for leading the regional safety strategy during the construction/installation phase


  • Develop and Lead the safety strategy for the project management and site teams and personnel during the construction/installation phase
  • Ensure safety requirements are communicated to all project leads and through the project teams including subcontractors
  • Manage the safety strategy and ensure safety audits and required job hazard analysis and risk assessments are performed

Responsible for Customer Satisfaction

  • Work collaboratively with regional leaders and project leads on identifying and understanding the customer's mission and vision
  • Lead a culture to develop project strategies that align with our customer's mission and vision and operational needs

Manage and Develop Project Management Team

  • Demonstrate servant leadership to provide team with direction and tools to be successful
  • Provide leadership, management and performance goals for direct and indirect reports
  • Provide leadership in development and management of regional goals
  • Manage utilization and resource allocation to achieve success on projects
  • Develop plans and goals to meet and exceed business goals
  • Coordinate with other functional and regional leaders
  • Responsible for capturing and sharing best practices and lessons learned throughout business
  • Responsible for leading the Project Management Team members throughout the phases of the project lifecycle.
  • C ollaborate with Sales and Operations Team to provide resources to assist with development and delivery of high quality projects and support
  • Review and Approve Project Strategy Plans and Budgets
  • Review Project procurement strategies, scope development, project financials, process, risk and quality to build the most successful project for our customer and our company.
  • Participate and provide support on projects as needed
  • Responsible for ensuring high collaboration across regional engineering, construction and performance assurance teams
  • Support Innovation efforts and development of new solutions for our customers.
  • Participate in technical and management reviews
  • Lead backlog reviews
  • Lead and manage subcontractor qualification, selection and buy out through your team and other project team members.
  • Participate in the quality control and completion construction contracts
  • Other duties may be assigned

Lead Regional and National business efforts advancing Project Management

  • Lead and Participate in regional meetings and strategy development
  • Be the liaison for all functional disciplines for engineering, construction, sales and performance assurance throughout the construction/installation phase of the project
  • Responsible for financials, forecasting, and project portfolios
  • Support national efforts in Project Management and Innovation
  • Lead in capturing and sharing best practices and lessons learned

Education/Certification Required: 4-year college degree or technical degree, and/or relative experience required. PMP certification is a plus.

Experience Required: Relative people and project leadership. People management experience is a plus. Experience, Exposure and Education that demonstrate a thorough knowledge of project and program management of building construction projects.

Travel:

  • Travel will vary, but may require travel greater than 35% of the time

While performing the primary functions of the job, the employee is regularly exposed to a general office environment. During periods of project site visits, the employee will be exposed to outside weather conditions as well as mechanical equipment rooms, which could consist of confined spaces and loud noises. Employee may work in different environments while on various job sites. This job requires work to be performed on project sites and thus will require greater than 35% travel to project sites. Travel will occur using an automobile or by airplane to destinations.
