About the Opportunity:

We're seeking an Account Supervisor to join the Corporate Reputation team in Austin. While there's no "typical" day in this role, we are looking for a team member who can roll with the punches and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, this role requires someone who is invigorated by challenges, complex subject matter, and thinking creatively on behalf of brands and their executives.

The ideal candidate will be a skilled writer and have traditional executive positioning experience, media relations and/or a diverse set of skills and abilities in employee experience and change management, corporate repositioning, talent attraction, marketing, and risk and reputation. We're seeking candidates with diverse backgrounds and skill sets to push our thinking, share fresh, innovative ideas and elevate the quality of counsel we deliver for our clients. As a member of the broader Corporate Communications and Reputation Team, this candidate will also serve as a mentor to junior staff and interns.

Day-to-day responsibilities:


    • Help lead and contribute to projects for large brands and high profile startups

    • Project manage the operational and financial performance of account teams, ensuring quality work, effective processes and that client requests are handled in timely and strategic fashion

    • Thoughtfully counsel clients based on the internal and external landscape and business goals

    • Create content, including messaging, media pitches, event submissions and more to help tell client's stories

    • Take immediate action on client feedback

    • Help supervise more junior staff by mentoring, motivating, coaching, and consistently providing feedback

    • Contribute to business development, including new business and organic growth with existing clients

    • Strong earned mindset is ideal. Should be interested in contributing to strategic earned media and newsroom planning on a regular basis and execute against those plans. Ability to effectively monitor the news landscape daily, develop proactive and reactive pitches, conduct planned and proactive outreach daily, develop relationships with key U.S. media, etc.

More specifically, we are looking for someone who:


    • Is a proactive self-starter with excellent organizational and project management skills, and the ability to adapt to change and meet deadlines

    • Has a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following: change management, employee experience, corporate repositioning, talent attraction, marketing, communications strategy, risk and reputation, and corporate transformations

    • Has strong client relations and project management skills, owning day-to-day client interactions and team operations for a critical parts of the business. Tasks include driving execution of announcements, as well as associated press release drafts, pitches, and monitoring and reporting with the team's support. Reviewing the team's work from client communications, to strategic plans, to stakeholder materials

    • Ability to travel as needed. Currently, Edelman is operating under a no regrets travel policy

    • Flexibility to work on-site, embedded with clients as needed

    • Experience designing and implementing communications strategies in complex organizations and across diverse stakeholder and leadership groups

    • Possesses strong understanding of how to communicate with teams

    • Demonstrates advanced writing, editing and presentation-development skills; project management skills; and consultative skills (including effective questions and critical thinking)
