We are currently looking for a seasoned communications professional to work on industry leading consumer apparel and sports brands. This person will play a key role on an integrated account team that plays in the world of sports, lifestyle, fitness, mindfulness, innovation, fashion and more. This person will be responsible for driving the day-to-day work of said account. He/she also will serve as a key member of an account team for a high-profile consumer brand with one of the largest sports sponsorship portfolios in North America. The ideal candidate will be a skilled account manager and client counselor with a diverse set of skills and abilities in communications.

The role will work closely across interagency teams at UEG and within the DJE family of companies. If you are a proactive team player who is ready to join our fast-paced, fast-growing account and practice, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


    • Lead day-to-day account management and serve as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing issues thoughtfully and effectively, taking immediate action on client feedback

    • Oversee multiple projects from concept to completion by anticipating challenges, troubleshooting problems, proposing solutions, offering client counsel, overseeing quality, and ensuring deadline and budget adherence

    • Strong earned mindset is ideal. Should be interested in contributing to strategic earned media and newsroom planning on a regular basis and execute against those plans. Ability to effectively monitor the news landscape daily, develop proactive and reactive pitches, conduct planned and proactive outreach daily, develop relationships with key U.S. media, etc.

    • Delegate to staff and help motivate and coach team members; manage up to senior staff and consistently provide feedback that helps drive efficiency

    • Help maintain and mentor a high-performing, creative and cross-functional team to provide clients with best-in-class work inclusive of managing junior staff

    • Help set the strategy for quarterly or annual communications plans, content strategies, etc.

    • Contribute to business development, including new business and organic growth with existing clients

    • Provide input and support on account management elements, including budgeting, client billing, vendor invoicing, reporting, and recapping, etc.

    • Participate in / attend regular client meetings and conference calls, internal meetings, etc.

    • Assist in generating buzz and earned coverage for product launches, brand announcements, partnership news, athlete and executive voices

    • Contribute to cultivating long-term relationships with key lifestyle, fashion, fitness, sports, tech / innovation, business and consumer media and influencers on behalf of clients.

    • Closely track communications marketing trends to bring fresh thinking and best practices to clients


Requirements


    • At least 7 years of relevant experience in communications, including a previous focus on Retail, Fashion, Sports or Fitness, Sports Sponsorship, or Health/Wellbeing

    • Proven track record managing high-performing client accounts and agency teams

    • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills (outreach plans, writing, proofreading, pitch development, media materials, strategy documents, decks, etc.)

    • Strong worth ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while being flexible enough to pivot quickly if needed

    • Strong and consistent problem-solving and analytical skills

    • Team player with the ability to project confidence, a positive attitude, good judgement, and a solutions-oriented approach under pressure

    • Strong understanding of consumer and health/wellness and sports sponsorship trends across the industry, as well a deep understanding of evolving media landscape

    • Strong, relevant relationships with top tier media, tastemakers, etc. - and the ability to leverage for earned results

    • Fundamental understanding of Integrated Communications tactics

    • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field from an accredited college or university
