Job Summary


The Quality Systems Regulatory Knowledge & Compliance Lead will be a subject matter expert in a specific area of Business and Quality Management Systems relating to regulatory, customer and 3rd party requirements e.g EASA Part 21G, EASA/EMAR Part 21J, AS9100, EASA/EMAR/FAA14 CFR Part 145.

Liaison between GKNA and the regulatory / 3rd parties to understand strategic direction, provide GKN input to development and change of standards and publications and share knowledge to best enable GKNA to adapt and develop/implement best practices.

Act as a subject matter expert for the organization, advice on policies, compliance and risk to ensure GKN Aerospace and included certified/approved entities QMS/BMS are compliant to requirements, adequate to needs and effective to objectives. Support strategic improvement projects, lead Quality System projects and audit planning for compliance to the area of expertise and train and coach others on the requirements.


Job Responsibilities


* Liaise with the regulatory/ 3rd parties such as EASA/FAA/IAQG to understand strategic direction, future changes and manage/provide GKN Aerospace participation/input into development and updates of standards and other relevant publications.

* Define plans and policy proposals based on external and internal trends and factors relating to area of expertise.

* Support the Global Quality Systems Audit and Development team in the development of strategic audit approach and audit checklists to ensure compliance with specific area of expertise.

* Provide expert support to the GKN Aerospace and included certified/approved entities to answer their questions on compliance or review non conformances, share information on upcoming changes and lead development/maintenance of compliance matrices

* Support the organisation with 3rd party certification/surveillance audits in order to obtain/maintain certifications and approvals

* Identify and share opportunities for improvement and best practices to help ensure the continual improvement of the GKN Aerospace and included certified/approved entities QMS/BMS

* Support the GKN Aerospace Global Process Owners, Global Standards Manager, Quality Excellence Development Leads and site leadership teams to plan, develop and review suitable means of compliance such as Global Standards and certified/approved entity QMS/BMS documented information and performance data to ensure compliance with the area of expertise.

* Propagate Quality Culture across GKN Aerospace.


Job Qualifications


Required Qualifications:



* Bachelor's Degree, or in lieu of degree at least 15 years of experience with Aviation Regulations (EASA, FAA etc), customer & 3rd party quality requirements (AS9100 etc.).

* 10 years of experience with Aviation Regulations (EASA, FAA etc), customer & 3rd party quality requirements (AS9100 etc.).

* 2 years of experience translating requirements into effective Quality/Business Management Systems.

* 2 years of experience implementing new management systems across multiple sites.

* Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations and/or program requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:



* GKN experience

* Skills to develop and deploy training courses to support knowledge share and conformity to job profiles of relevant functions.

* Knowledge in the use of risk based methods and techniques (ISO 13000) for audit planning and management;

* Project management skills to perform/support improvement projects in area of expertise.

* An effective communicator with experience in networking and stakeholder management

* IT skills: Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

* Thorough understanding of the content and application of the IAQG / ISO Standards and IAQG SCMH.

* Appropriate 'Executive disposition' to represent GKN Aerospace in external organisations & forums.

* Mentoring & coaching skills necessary to develop others.

* Industry experience within a Manufacturing environment (APQP) preferably aerospace/automotive.

* Knowledge of Business Process Management and the APQC Process Classification Framework.
