Responsibilities

Works with Clinical Director/Chief Psychiatrist to provide additional supervisory support to staff psychiatrists and clinical staff and to help with administrative responsibilities required for optimal clinical functioning of CMHS. Responsible for providing direct psychiatric evaluation, medical assessment and intervention to mentally ill individuals in the community who are experiencing, or at risk of, an acute psychological crisis. Provides consultation and education to program staff, other agencies and other disciplines, including other services of VNSNY. Works under general direction. Licensure: Board certification or eligibility required. New York State Physician's License required. Education: Medical degree from an accredited college of medicine required. Completion of residency program in psychiatry required. Experience: Two years of experience in working with patients in mental health setting preferred.
