Purpose:
The Director, Corporate planning leads the long term planning and business modeling for the company. This position will make projections based on current trends and future expectations, working with the management team, ensures that resource requirements are properly aligned to allow strategic goals to be met, and then inspires the workforce to achieve them. Director, Corporate Planning works across all functions to ensure all major presentations to board, external parties and internal are consistent with messaging and delivers what is expected. The corporate planning lead also continuously monitors company and market performance to determine if strategies need to be adjusted or new strategies should be introduced.
Key Accountabilities:
- Drive corporate strategy, while leading and supporting key strategic initiatives
- Merge technical, market and financial analysis to provide management most appropriate information to properly evaluate strategic options
- Lead the monthly and quarterly management meeting process.
- Utilize cross functional resources to identify and evaluate promising projects
- Develop long term financial forecasts utilizing cross functional input and incorporating strategic alternatives
- Develop and analyze scenarios, including sensitivity analysis, that help improve the overall cash position, earning strength and shareholder value.
- Support the CEO and CFO and in developing presentations for the board and external community.
- Work with the Sales, Manufacturing and Accounting group to understand actual vs. prior result differences to understand future impacts
- Track and monitor potential events and changes that may impact the financial projections
Job Requirements
Required Experience and Education:
Minimum Required Experience and Education:
- 10+ years of experience within business development/strategy roles
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Management, or related field
Required skills:
Minimum Required Skills:
- Analyzing/quantifying complex strategic questions
- Understanding of shareholder value tied with long-term strategy of the company
- Excellent written and presentation skills
- Excellent project management skills
- Superb usage of cross-functional teams to meet objectives
- Creativity and comfort in future looking projects
Preferred Skills:
- Master's Degree in Finance, Business Management, or related field
- Graphic/Specialty paper industry experience
