Registered Nurse - Radiation Oncology at EIRMC Cancer Center

Full Time (M-F) Day Shift

The largest medical facility in the region, Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) includes a full-service hospital with 318 patient beds. It serves as the region's healthcare hub, serving southeast Idaho, western Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park and parts of Montana. EIRMC is home to aLevel II Trauma Center, aLevel 1 ICU(of only two in Idaho), and the onlyBurn Centerin the state of Idaho. OurERis the most experienced in the region. The hospital's other specialty services include the region's only Level IIINeonatal Intensive Care Unitcapable of caring for babies born as early as 22 weeks gestation;the region's only Pediatric Intensive Unit, the largest heart program in the region, aBehavioral Health Centerwhich is a74-bed Joint Commission accredited psychiatric hospital and the region's onlyPrimary Stroke Center.

Responsibilities:

Plans and coordinates medical care to patients undergoingradiationtreatment for cancer.

Conductpatient assessments, educatepatients on their treatment, ensurecontinuity of care, preparepatients for procedures, and completeotherdutiesas assigned by doctors.

Assesses patients for educational, physiological, psychosocial, comfort and safety needs.

Performs treatments, procedures, and administers medication within State practice guidelines.

Follows up with other associates, other departments, physician, and others as necessary.

Participates in departmental quality improvement programs by identifying, collecting, analyzing and documenting the results.

Qualifications

Requires completion from accredited Registered Nurse program of nursing.

Must maintain current State of Idaho Registered Nurse license or Compact License.

American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) Certification.

ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy provider status preferred within 1 year of hire or transfer to department, and complete hospital mandatory education assignments by deadlines assigned.
