What we're looking for: Spectrum Networks is looking for a PEG Access Coordinator responsible for maintaining programming database, internal and external correspondence, tape library organization and upkeep. Position serves as a liaison between master control operator and programming, along with maintaining key relationships with public access producers regarding programming matters.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

  • Prepare, update and submit weekly and monthly schedules for PEG channels.

  • Organize and maintain filing system and department records including contracts for all show producers.

  • Create routine to moderately complex spreadsheets that contain formulas and special formatting.

  • Drafts letters, correspondence, memos, charts, documents and tables as requested.

  • Coordinate return of tapes to producers and maintain accurate records of tape library.

  • Maintain liaison with producers regarding programming matters and questions following company guidelines.

  • Support and substitute for Master Control on an as needed basis.

  • Communicate to engineering regarding malfunctioning equipment.

  • Provides administrative support to management when needed

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

  • Detail oriented and organized to ensure presented information is of high quality and easily understandable

  • Basic understanding of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control and operation of Television Broadcasting systems

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure and time deadlines

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications required

  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently

  • Show judgment and initiative to accomplish job duties

  • Ability to handle complex and ad hoc requests


Education & Experience:

  • Associates degree in Telecommunications, Electronics or related field or comparable television, cable television work experience preferred

  • 5 years Administrative work experience

  • Varying schedule due to, breaking news and/or daily news coverage requirements

  • Provide 24x7, 365 days per year, on-call support. May entail phone or physical presence at the facility for equipment failure or other disasters. This includes, but is not limited to equipment and power failures, loss of contracted services, storms or severe weather, and schedule conflicts
