Overall Purpose:

Responsible for participation on one or more project teams, application configuration, integration, and modification activities, as well as related maintenance and support.

Job Responsibilities:


  • Participating in project planning sessions with team members to analyze requirements. Engaging in limited amounts of client interaction. Working with project team to define and design project scope.

  • Developing and integrating applications per written specifications.

  • Translating business and technical requirements into application modules.

  • Utilizing at least one programming language or software technology.

  • Making modifications to existing software applications and modules in accordance with written specifications and industry standards.

  • Developing or configuring software application modules using disciplined software development processes.

  • Testing and implementing application modules they have developed or modified, ensuring application meets needs of client and business.

  • Providing ongoing maintenance of applications or tools, handling tier II support issues (tickets) within area of expertise. Participate in the On-Call Rotation



    Supervisory:

    Does not supervise others.



    Education/Experience Requirements:

    Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree in IS or CS or IT-related field. With 3-5+ years of relevant professional experience.





    Preferred:Utility experience with SDLC best practices.



    Scope:

    Primary focus is on daily deliverables, outputs and reporting. Incumbent is accountable for managing one's own time and workflow, driving results, anticipating project plans, and mentoring junior team members. Responsibilities are generally tactical in nature and work is typically of moderate complexity requiring the incumbent to draw on previous knowledge to perform role. Continues to build knowledge base and develop capabilities by partnering with more experienced staff as needed.



    Decision Impact:

    Problems and issues faced are vague but may be recognizable based on past experience. Accountable for some direct level of reasoning and decision making.
