Brown Brothers Harriman is seeking a Sr. Database Architect with relational (Oracle) databases expertise with exposure to Big Data technologies to help with the development of our evolving Data platform. BBH's Data platform serves as the foundation for a key set of offerings running on Oracle Exadata and Cloudera's distribution
Key Responsibilities Include:
Design, document and develop ETL logic and data flows to facilitate the easy usage of data assets, both batch and real-time streaming
Architect high performing data solutions using ETL, ETL or virtualization technologies
Help creating robust and high performing datasets that can be utilized Enterprise wide
Develop subject matter expertise to support requests/inquiries from various business user groups
Consistent practice in coding and unit testing
Performance Tuning and Query Optimization
Work with distributed teams
Qualifications for your role would include:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience
Strong knowledge of architectural principles, frameworks, design patterns and industry best practices for design and development.
12+ years of experience in an IT, preliminary on hands on development on relational databases primarily Oracle
10 + years of Oracle Query and Performance tuning
Strong Hands on experience with PL/SQL programming
Experience Apache HiveQL
Experience working with Git, Jira, and Agile methodologies
Strong experience in designing efficient and robust ETL/ELT workflows and schedulers
Experience in Agile development environment
End-to-end development life-cycle support and SDLC processes
Communication skills - both written and verbal
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Self-driven, work in teams and independently if required
Nice To Have:
Working experience in a Financial industry is a plus
Experience with the development using Big Data and No SQL databases such as HBase/Impala and MongoDB
