Global Product Support Engineer at Bio-Rad Laboratories in Hercules, California

Job Description:

Bio-Rad's "Global Product Support Engineers" are responsible for providing high level technical product support for new and current Life Science Group products. Primary focus is product support which includes, emphasis on product quality improvement, corrective and preventive action, writing service manuals and service advisories, and continuous improvement of assigned product lines. Excellent technical writing skills are essential to this position. Other tasks include providing service training, support for new product development, phone and e-mail support to field service and service subsidiaries including problem escalation and resolution, creating documentation for service parts and tools. Interaction with R&D, Tech Support, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Quality Management, Field Service and Bio-Rad Service Subsidiaries.

Responsibilities

• Perform, follow investigation escalated by CTS or Service, special focus on methods using equipments iQ-Check and TeSeE ranges.


• Global Product support; E-mail and phone support, on-site support for problem escalation.


• Identify product quality improvements, coordinating corrective and preventive action, and continuous improvement with appropriate manufacturing and R&D groups.


• Writing service manuals and service advisories.


• Product and quality meetings.


• Create and enter service documentation (parts, tools, service support documentation).


• New product development support (meetings, developing service plans, serviceability reports).


• Technical service training (domestic and international).


• Product performance, failure, and improvement analysis, improvement recommendations and implementation.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering field, or equivalent education and industry experience.


• Industry experience in Food Microbiology and/or Molecular Biology is a plus.


• Experience with Hamilton automation systems is a plus.


• 5 years' experience in engineering, manufacturing and/or field service support environment servicing and troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical, fluidic and optical instrumentation.


• Experience in technical writing.


• Experience in working in an ISO quality system environment.


• Multiple years' experience servicing complex, computer controlled electro-mechanical instruments or systems.


• Technical training experience to small groups or one-on-one.


• Availability to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time.
