Global Wealth Management Operations supports the JPMorgan Private Bank in JP Morgan's Asset & Wealth Management line of business. Global Wealth Management Operations provides end-to-end support for all aspects of the client experience, working closely with client service, fiduciary, product specialty groups, third party vendors and other internal groups.

Position Summary:

The Private Banking (PB) Credit Middle Office Outside Counsel Quality Control (OSC QC) Team is a dedicated team of specialists focused on ensuring the quality of loan documentation supporting credit transactions that are drafted by Outside Counsel law firms. The OSC QC Team is responsible for ensuring adherence to policy and procedures, and maintaining the highest standard of quality for our loan documentation that is subsequently provided to clients. The OSC QC Team is a critical part of safeguarding the business by reviewing information on file, and newly prepared loan documentation. The functions performed by this team are critical to protecting the bank from regulatory and credit risks, and our clients' experience. The successful Vice President exercises independent judgment, effectively navigates ambiguity, has a willingness to lead projects and takes ownership of tasks with a sense of urgency.

The OSC QC Vice President will be part of a team with the following responsibilities across the Private Bank Americas (Domestic and LATAM) portfolios:


  • Execute on the strategic vision for the future state of OSC QC
  • Create and foster a positive environment for collaboration
  • Represent OSC QC across various forums and internal parties including Monthly Metrics, Internal Legal, Credit Risk, Operations, Compliance, Business Management, Quality Assurance, and the like
  • Provide direct management of the OSC QC Team of Analysts and Associates
  • Lead data driven analysis using foundational data results for problem solving and process improvements with senior stakeholders to identify opportunities and shape recommendations
  • Detailed knowledge of relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Own and update OSC QC process documents and relevant quality checklists and make periodic updates to these documents as statutory and regulatory requirements evolve.
  • Review and understand credit requests and evaluate documentation requirements.
  • Review and understand credit agreement terms after financial analysis and credit approval (review of Credit Approval Memorandums, in partnership with Credit Risk).


  • Partner closely with other Credit Middle Office Operations Teams, Credit Risk, Internal Legal Counsels, Front Office Partners (Lending Advisors) to solution for accuracy on all escalations.
  • Manage initiatives to resolve control gaps and enhance current processes for further efficiency and effectiveness as needed.
  • Maintain OSC QC review records in accordance with JPMC records management policies in order to maintain audit readiness at all times.
  • Ensure that relevant Business Resiliency and Controls partners are engaged often to satisfy ongoing QC operational requirements.

Skills and Experience Required:


  • Solid understanding of legal documentation and/or loan closing activities within the credit lifecycle
  • Proven ability to manage teams with complex interdependencies and multiple stakeholders
  • High level of proficiency in organizing, priority-setting, and clear results delivery
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills - ability to articulate and tell a story to key stakeholders/senior management
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical skills, and creative problem solving
  • Strong knowledge of control environments and formal control requirements
  • Strong teamwork approach, prior working experience with extended teams such as Internal Legal, Credit Risk, Operations, and/or the like
  • Creative problem solving and results oriented
  • Ability to positively influence change and maintain an organized and compliant change management environment
  • Intermediate MS Office skills (Excel and PowerPoint) required
  • Knowledge of bank systems and loan/credit operations a plus
  • College degree and 6 years of relevant work experience in the financial services industry
