• Lead a team responsible for developing, deploying, & supporting enterprise data protection for structured databases; engineer, implement, & maintain capabilities to implement activity monitoring and vulnerability assessment on structured databases


• Develop a team with the best talent capable of delivering key capabilities to Cigna; champion employee engagement and development in adapting to a fast-paced technology environment, keeping up with the evolution of threats


• Lead a team to deliver the best value quickly and at the best cost in an agile development environment, and collaborate with other teams to deliver complete value


• Participate in the development of technology & migration plans for evolution of security capabilities


• Communicate & collaborate with teams across the organization to drive security posture across structured data systems


• Bottom line: serve as a well-respected leader in a great organization


• Owns the output of a key discipline within Information Protection and typically manages a team of Information Protection job family roles


• Responsible for all aspects of information systems security for a business segment or function to ensure the protection of information processed, stored or transmitted


• Evaluates security products and tools for enterprise implementation and develops technical security configurations


• Approves IP security architecture/designs, plans, controls, processes, standards, policies and procedures to ensure alignment with IP standards and overall IP security strategy


• Directs the development of techniques and procedures for conducting IP security risk assessments and compliance audits, the evaluation and testing of hardware, firmware and software for possible impact on system security, and the investigation and resolution of security incidents


• Advises superiors on security effectiveness and recommends enhancements.


• Allocates appropriate resources to ensure that projects are completed within committed time and budget and are integrated with administrative and support protocols.


• Utilizes in-depth professional knowledge and experience to set departmental goals which align with functional strategy


• Focuses on achievement of departmental goals and plays a significant part in achieving functional goals

Qualifications / Experience Requirement:

• Knowledge & experience (minimum 4 years preferred) in enterprise security strategies to defend key structured data


• Knowledge & experience with IBM's Guardium VA and Guardium DAM product suite, as well as other equivalent technologies


• Possess knowledge of automation technology and workflow for managing security in structured data


• Experience in creating success via leadership of small teams in an agile development environment for application & deployment of technology, using influence among multiple technology engineering teams to achieve a common architectural goal for the organization


• Ability to be a champion for team talent strategy & team members' career development


• Possess knowledge and application of identity & access management standards / compliance & controls frameworks (NIST, SOC1, SOC2, ISO27000, etc.)

This position is not eligible to be performed in Colorado.
