Manager, Infusion Nursing - Accredo - $10,000 Sign-On Bonus at Cigna in Flushing, New York

POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager, Infusion Nursing is responsible for all nursing-related activities for patients referred to nursing for care. Provides clinical and operational oversight to ensure the delivery of excellent patient care, development of staff and achievement of team goals to include utilization, budgetary, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Manager provides direction and leadership to ensure nursing care delivery is in accordance with company policy and procedures, ensures compliance with all regulatory and accreditation entities and works collaboratively across teams and functions to ensure an optimal and standardized patient experience. The Manger will identify operational opportunities and areas for process development, improvement and administration applicable to clinical product offerings and present recommendations to senior leadership in efforts for best practice standardization across the nursing organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • TEAM DEVELOPMENT

    • Responsible for tracking and trending staff performance and productivity.


    • Supports training and development programs for staff to assure competence in patient care.


    • Provides mentoring, coaching and feedback.



  • OPERATIONS

    • Collaborates with Quality Assurance, Training/Innovation, operations managers, project managers and others to insure optimal patient care is consistently delivered across all areas.


    • Continual identification of operational opportunities to gain efficiencies and improve processes.


    • Handle escalated issues requiring a higher degree of expertise or discretion to resolve.


    • Present clinical or operational information to small or large groups.



  • COMPLIANCE

    • Assures that all patient-related documentation, and clinical and departmental reports, are accurately completed, submitted and/or filed in a timely manner, according to internal and external regulatory requirements and in support of the billing process.


    • Corresponds with leadership team on employee/HR issues, departmental issues and any service issues involving client or legal risk issues to the company.



  • SCHEDULING/STAFFING

    • Works with operations, clinical, and nonclinical supervisors to define required staffing needs that support reimbursement and clinical excellence and resource maximization and coverage for the program.


    • Monitor the daily nurse scheduler application and other data reports to ensure nursing team is compliant with nursing note submission, availability and completion of plans of treatment.



  • PATIENT CARE

    • Responsible for direction and leadership to ensure the receipt, evaluation, acceptance and execution of the initial patient intake process to assure that patient verification, assessment, teaching and the ongoing scheduling of nursing services occurs in a timely and appropriate manner.


    • Responsible for the provision of nursing care to patients based on a modified primary nursing approach. Such provision of care includes, but is not limited to:

      • Patient assessment, clinical and environmental.


      • Patient and caregiver teaching, nursing care, and experience are delivered according to evidenced based practice and company policies and procedures.


      • Coordination of related services.


      • Oversight of the development and revision of the plan of care.


      • Skilled nursing care.


      • Ensuring the Implementation of physician orders.


      • Monitoring of patient response.


      • Response to emergency patient needs.


      • Psycho social support.




    • Meets with internal or external customers as needed and as a subject matter expert for nursing responsibilities as related to patient care.



QUALIFICATIONS


  • Registered Nurse (RN) License in good standing is required


  • High School Diploma or GED required, plus 11-14 years of relevant RN experience with a Nursing Diploma; or


  • 8-11 years relevant RN experience with Associate's Degree; or


  • 5-8 years relevant RN experience with Bachelor's Degree; or


  • 2-5 years relevant RN experience with Master's Degree.


  • Master's Degree & certification in nursing preferred


  • 5+ years of relevant clinical experience, including 3-5 years of leadership experience


  • Strong IV insertion experience


  • Valid driver's license in state of residence


  • Proficiency with MS Office Applications and Apple technology


  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally to solve complex problems and improve quality and service.


  • Highly organized, strong problem-solving, project management, team building and oral and written communication skills.


  • Ability to analyze information and target trends.


  • Ability to maintain high-level of confidentiality.


  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service.


  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.


  • Proven individual and team leadership ability.


  • Knowledge of pharma audit and contract review processes preferred.


  • Ability to travel up to 10%.
