The Accounting Analyst will work with members of the Accounting team manage assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of financial processes, procedures, and systems. This person will apply accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and reconciliations, and ensure appropriate accounting control procedures. The Accounting Analyst will complete analysis and reconciliation of accounts and in development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures and controls. The Accounting Analyst will report to the Senior Accounting Manager
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
Work collaboratively with other accounting officers within organization
Track and monitor department budget monthly; investigate and take corrective action when required
Respond to requests to reconcile accounts
Prepare financial reports on a determined schedule
Present financial reports and estimates to decision makers within the organization
Utilize technical skills to create charts and graphs for visual understanding
Research current economic and financial outlook
Provide solutions to accounting issues as they arise
Investigate and provide feedback on accounting irregularities
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (Master's Degree in Accounting or MBA is preferred)
CPA certification is required
Experience in transportation services, distribution, or manufacturing is preferred
Strong familiarity with productivity tools such as Microsoft Office Suite
Prior experience using database tools and spreadsheet software such as MySQL and Excel
Experience using data visualization tools, such as Microsoft PowerBI and Tableau
Ability to quickly learn industry-related regulations quickly and utilize information in written reports
Comfort preparing and delivering reports to decision makers
Strong critical thinking skills
Excellent communication skills
Experience in writing technical accounting memos
