Job Description:

Reference Data Strategy is responsible for defining the strategic data model structures and interactions with lines of business and corporate functions in order to deliver best in class content, platforms and processes. The Reference Data Strategy team is mandated to identify and lead critical strategic transformation efforts focused on the Firm's reference data business needs. The vision is to address the Firm's current state challenges through reference data platforms, processes and content that leverage shared contribution and support models using standard interfaces and unified data models.

We are seeking a data-oriented project manager to join a dynamic team in support of one of our major programs to build out the Reference Data Hierarchy Platform (RDHP). The successful candidate will help drive the program strategy working with our global line of businesses.

The RDHP Program provides a firmwide utility to maintain alternative views of corporate standard hierarchies in support of LOB business reporting and processes. Additionally, we support establishing a system of record for business required taxonomies currently residing in user tools or independent applications preventing proper data governance and broad-based distribution.

Responsibilities


  • Partner with global teams to advance RDHP strategic program in alignment with firmwide policy
  • Create, manage project plans and execute on project status reporting
  • Document business requirements and recommend solutions based on business problems and data needs
  • Write User Stories, and contribute towards organizing these into Themes and Epics
  • Lead ongoing meetings with key business partners (Project Working Group, Scrum calls and Senior management meetings)
  • Conduct data analysis to support recommendations and necessary action items
  • Prepare project status reports and dashboards
  • Define, document operating models and standardize governance
  • Maintain partnership with the Client, Technology and Operations on the Design, Build and Testing solution
  • Develop and execute test plans, test cases and test scripts; coordinate end user testing

Qualifications

  • Graduate/post-graduate degree or equivalent, and overall 5+ years professional experience with 2+ years of project management experience.
  • Strong data mining, problem solving and analytical skills with ability to summarize findings
  • Ability to draw conclusions from data analysis and effectively communicate them to management and project team
  • Ability to relate application to data used and how it is stored in various tables in the database/System of Record
  • Partnership-oriented and team player with ability to communicate with all staff levels internal/external
  • Self-starter with excellent leadership, interpersonal, decision making and project management skills
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in JIRA, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project and MS Access, SharePoint, SQL to retrieve data
  • Familiarity with the Agile/Scrum development methodology is highly desirable
  • Solid understanding of reference data infrastructure is highly desirable
