Job Description:


This is a key position as part of an active research team in a Department of Neuroscience research laboratory focused on studying the rewarding properties of nicotine and cannabinoids in experimental animals. The incumbent will be responsible for learning and performing established protocols for testing drug effects on animal behavior, maintaining the rat colony, collecting blood/brain samples and performing established assays. The incumbent will work with the Principal Investigator and the research team to establish protocols and record keeping methods, maintain records and assist in the supervision of undergraduate student research assistants. Experience in handling experimental animals is required. The ideal candidate has excellent organizational and communication skills and a strong interest in behavioral neuroscience research.The Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences is committed to building a culturally diverse staff. Bachelor's Degree in Neuroscience or a related field is required. Some experience working in a research lab which could be as an undergraduate student, is required. Experience working with rats or mice in a research setting; basic computer skills.
