If you are a MARKETING professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you!  Based in our MANSFIELD, OH location, you will work with our global teams to develop new products which drive step-function growth. You will also lead the expansion of our environmental sensing initiatives. AS THE DIRECTOR, Strategic Marketing, YOU WILL: 


  • Work directly with the VP Marketing, President and Executive Staff to set Business Development strategy, goals, and objectives.

  • Work with Sales, Marketing, and Customers to understand market trends and customer needs. Captures market trends/voice of customer (VOC) in our growth strategy that fits overall Business Development strategy. 

  • Work with Engineering to develop key platform products that address the VOC and drive execution.

  • Generate and implement strategies that generate step function growth within the business cycle.

  • Identify internal technology gaps and works with engineering to address them via internal technology development and/or external technology partnerships.

  • Lead expansion of served available market (SAM) with the successful execution of new initiatives.

  • Serve as project leader for new platform initiatives.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive execution and ensure products, business processes, and quality levels meet customer expectations. 

  • Creates Sales & Marketing presentations to drive growth initiatives.

  • Works collaboratively across Emerson to independently drive growth initiatives.

Flexible Work Schedule – Remote Work Option and Core Hours
This role has the flexibility of a remote work option up to three days a week and a core hour schedule. You can choose to flex your start and stop times given you are working during the core hours of 9:00am - 3:00pm. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:


  • MBA required with a minimum of five years of combined Sales and Marketing/Product Management experience

  • Bachelors degree required; engineering degree preferred

  • Ability to travel up to 25% for the position. 

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship for this position is not available.   


 PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:  

 


  • Preferred understanding of sensing technologies.

  • Strong domain knowledge in one or more key markets preferred: HVAC, Automotive, Appliance, Industrial and Medical

  • Excellent leadership and team building skills

  • Superior communication skills; ability to effectively present to executives

  • Strategic mindset and ability to cultivate innovation required

  • Advanced decision making, problem solving, and negotiation skills required
