Position Summary

The HPE Global Communications team is seeking an experienced Corporate & Financial Communications Director to serve as a primary relationship manager for financial and business media, reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Communications.

The ideal candidate has strong experience developing and executing high-profile communications initiatives and will excel working with the media to tell stories collaboratively with senior executives and cross-functional colleagues; consistently deliver high-quality work; work smart but fast; and bring together key stakeholders make decisions.

Financial communications experience is essential; experience in enterprise B2B technology is advantageous.

Responsibilities


  • Drive appreciation for HPE’s vision, strategy and financial performance and frame our overall corporate narrative with key financial and business media. 

  • Drive strategy and execution of all financial communications, including all PR elements of quarterly earnings announcements, investor days and M&A activity as well as the production of critical messaging including CEO scripts.

  • Provide strategic counsel and executive communications support to the CFO – including media engagements, thought leadership and visibility platforms – and support similar activity for the CEO and other senior executives. 

  • Plan, manage, and own relationships and engagement programs with top-tier U.S. financial and business press and U.S.-based foreign correspondents.

  • Work closely with Investor Relations team and partnering with teams across the organization - business groups, marketing, sales, digital media, creative services, etc.– to develop compelling 360 communication campaigns.

  • Manage a small team of internal media relations practitioners and external agency partners.

  • Act as a champion and driver of our HPE culture.

Qualifications 


  • A Bachelor’s degree and MBA

  • At least 12 years of communications, public relations, or related media experience in a B2B industry or enterprise technology

  • Fluency in the capital markets and a grasp of complex business structures

  • Strong comfort level in counseling senior executives

  • Proven track record of delivering thoughtful communications strategies and outstanding media results enhancing brand perception and reputation

  • Existing relationships with journalists from key national and international media outlets.

  • Excellent writing, editing and oral communication skills; effective communication in formal and informal settings

  • Proven team management capabilities

  • Diplomacy and tact, with the ability to manage highly confidential matters

  • Creativity and a keen understanding of what makes a good story; ability to articulate ideas persuasively to experienced journalists and other stakeholders
