Job Description:

Central Ohio Primary Care is seeking a Practice Optimization Advisor for our central business office in Westerville, OH. The Practice Optimization Advisor is responsible for partnering with physicians and practices around their clinical, operational and financial performance in line with organization goals. This position connects Physicians to their performance and outcomes and strategizes on practice optimization tactics and opportunities. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for performance improvement initiatives at the physician and practice level from evolution/efficiency identification through to improvement delivery including identification of COPC operations and clinical support needed to be successful. 

• Identify practice specific opportunities to eliminate low value services, unnecessary variation, waste (either underuse or overuse) of healthcare services. 

• Experience building external relationships, engagement, and participation in care redesign / behavior change with physicians, clinicians, and administration.

• Monitor progress against identified improvement tactics.

• Understand business and financial impact of improvement initiatives at the physician and practice level across all lines of business. 

• Contribute to the definition of goals for physicians and practices, alignment of those goals with organizational goals and ensure success criteria.

• Effectively collaborate with COPC clinical, operational, and project management teams in the success of identified practice transformation initiatives. 

• Ability to push thru data and operational challenges to focus on the desired outcome.

• Assures effective initiative hand-off to operational leads, clinical leads, and project management.

• Provides feedback to Physicians and collaborates with Physicians to establish plan of action to set them up for success. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

Education, Licensures & Certifications 

• BA/BS in healthcare administration, business management, operations management or equivalent education and experience required

• Master’s degree preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Two years of experience in quality improvement or business operations in a healthcare setting required

• 5-7 years of experience in a healthcare, operations management or process improvement related organization highly preferred

• Experience in physician and practice engagement 

• Extensive knowledge of best practices regarding reporting, workflows, policies, procedures, systems and culture in the healthcare environment

• Must recognize and evaluate problems, and refer to the appropriate channels for action

• Must gain expertise in full risk business models 

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and metadata skills

• Strong organizational skills and customer service orientation

• Strong decision-making skills

• High functioning team skills, including active listening and rapport building

• Effective written & verbal communication

• Ability to identify opportunities for automation to elevate overall work level of teams

• Ability to identify, document, resolve and/or escalate issues and maintain a complete issues log

• Ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels

• Ability to communicate effectively with executive level management

• Ability to accurately and precisely estimate project time

• Ability to learn new technologies and business concepts

• Self-disciplined, energetic, passionate, and innovative
