About the Position

Under direction of the Facilities Manager or assigned Lead facility staff member, performs all tasks related to the physical maintenance and repairs of Agency buildings, residences and property.



Position Functions & Responsibilities

Responsible for the day-to-day tasks related to the physical maintenance, repair and operation of building systems including but not limited to HVAC, electrical, carpentry, painting and plumbing.



Respond promptly to electronically submitted Facility Requests.



Participate in after-hours On-Call emergency request response in accordance with department protocols.



Assist campus Coordinator in maintaining Agency supplies, equipment and tools as necessary.



Identify, diagnose and solve complex building system failures, repairs and potential operational problems.



Able to complete advanced/complex work orders related to facilities operations with little or no guidance from Facilities Operations Manager and Coordinator.



Responsible for estimating material and labor needs to Coordinator and Facility Ops Manager for internal projects.



Lead internal projects as assigned by Coordinator and Facilities Ops Manager.



Able to oversee and verify subcontractor work is completed correctly for all facility operations systems.



Lead preventive maintenance and safety inspections programs for facilities, vehicles and equipment.



Position Requirements

Skills, Education, & Experience:

7+ years of increasing responsibility in facility building maintenance. Preferably in a healthcare setting.



Thorough understanding of all facilities operations, building systems and services.



Able to lead building maintenance, systems and general repairs and internal construction projects.



Advanced knowledge with regards to methods, terminology, equipment and tools in the maintenance, repair, and construction of building structures and systems including those used in performing rough and finished carpentry, plumbing, heating, electrical, mechanical and painting work.



Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations as defined by OSHA/WISHA.



ASTI, OSHA30 & HAZWOPER certifications preferred.



Computer skills including Microsoft Office and Facility Request Ticketing systems.



Demonstrate excellent customer service and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of performing maintenance functions.



Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.



Familiar with healthcare regulatory standards such as The Joint Commission and Department of Health, preferred.



Excellent understanding of life safety regulations.



Thoroughly understand Incident Command System and Emergency Management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to chemicals, dust, syringes/sharps, bio waste and unpredictable client behavior.
