GSSBCM acts as a shared service to support Chubb Business Units and Corporate functions – as an integrator that can assist with reducing risk, and enhancing resilience, through deliberate planning, progressively challenging exercises, and transparent policies and processes.

 

DESCRIPTION

The Business Continuity, COG/Life Lead is a significant contributor to Chubb’s overall Readiness for, Response to, and Recovery from business interruptions.  This position is primarily focused on COG/Life operations but will be expected to support aspects of Chubb North America, as needed.  Domestic and international travel (20-30%) is required.

 

This position requires an experienced professional who can provide subject matter expertise in business continuity.  The Business Continuity, COG/Life Lead is expected to work with minimal supervision while providing business continuity planning, training, exercising, and assessment services to corporate locations and lines of business.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • In collaboration with the Vice President of Business Continuity, develops business continuity policy and strategies aimed at mitigating all security and business continuity related risks.

  • Oversees and directs operational business continuity resources within LATAM, EMEA, APAC, and India

  • Regional Liaison:

    • Manage and support the BCM Leads for the Regions.

    • Participate in and/or lead conference calls and web-based meetings with partners from the Regions.

    • Develop and share BCM products that can be adapted for use in Global Regions.

    • Travel to support key BCM events within the Regions.



  • Works with the COG Business Continuity Analyst to ensure the regions receive support related to recurring annual requirements including incident management team exercises, business impact analysis and business continuity plans.

  • Identifies, prioritizes and addresses all internal and external business continuity issues, threats and vulnerabilities across the spectrum ranging from the terrorism threat to natural hazards.

  • Constantly evaluates processes while seeking improvement and implementation of positive organizational change.

  • Assist with implementation of Chubb’s global relational database and management system (Clearview) for business continuity.

  • Creating, archiving, and consolidating functions and plans within the Clearview database.

  • Assists the VP of Global Business Continuity in achieving financial goals by tracking operational budgets.

  • Assist in responding to incidents and outages.  

  • Work closely with the VP of Global Business Continuity and Regional Leadership on BCM and related projects and activities.

  • Ensure compliance of the regional business continuity program and support compliance outside of North America.

  • Assist business units in determining acceptable recovery time objectives and resource requirements.

  • Track, manage, and close issues identified by reviews, audits, incidents, and exercises.

  • Support requests from stakeholders to support business continuity related initiatives, to include site selection, strategy development, completing supplier and regulator inquiries and surveys, reviewing partner BC arrangements, and conducting meetings with brokers, customers, insurers, and other third parties.

  • Provide input into weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.

  • Provide written and verbal feedback about program effectiveness, including ideas for program improvements.

  • Provide support, as assigned, to the Global Business Continuity Program.

  • Continue to develop as a Business Continuity professional.

  • Other duties as assigned.

DESIRED QUALIFICATION:


  • Knowledge and experience in business continuity planning, training, and exercising commensurate with a minimum of 3 years of experience.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills

  • Strong leadership skills and a productive team player with a proven track record

  • Strong verbal / written communications. Must be able to interface and coordinate efficiently and effectively with business partners and all levels of leadership across the global organization.

  • Strong administrative skills, with effectiveness in developing tasks and managing resources to achieve target dates

  • Strong interpersonal skills and articulation skills required to communicate solutions to management.

  • Skilled at working with senior management in the development of strategic, as well as, tactical plans to mature the BCP culture within the corporation

  • Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Teams); SharePoint; Microsoft Outlook; Web-based communications tools; and internet-based research

  • Professional Designation - Certified Business Continuity Professional (or equivalent certifications or work experience preferred)

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
