Assist in the execution of category strategies relative to MRO, Facilities Management, Construction, Industrial Gases, Chemicals, and Fab Materials in the US and Europe with the purpose of obtaining the best cost and quality while maximizing value for II-VI stakeholders.
Job Competencies:
Experienced with Strategic Sourcing processes which include internal & external analysis, sourcing strategies and execution, contract execution, contract management, and supplier management.
Category Management experience with proven success driving for the best value.
Ability to maintain current market information for categories of responsibility to ensure that II-VI 's prices remain competitive within the confines of existing and new contracts.
Assist in the analysis of spend portfolio for assigned areas based on the magnitude of dollars, strategic importance, and opportunity for value delivery.
Experienced in Supplier Development, Supplier Relationship Management, supplier negotiations, and contract writing.
Adherence to policies and develop best practices to achieve efficiencies and cost reduction.
Develop, monitor, and report performance metrics to key stakeholders
Interact and support project/stakeholders on a multi-location/division basis to ensure needs and supply strategies are being executed as desired.
Skills and Qualifications:
Strong data analysis skills and project management skills
Advanced computer skills that include Microsoft Office Suite products
Willingness to travel and join international conference calls potentially at night to accommodate international divisions and suppliers.
Strong communications skills with internal customers and external suppliers at all levels
Experience with supplier development: quality system, process, supplier management
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications a plus
Self-motivated with good time management skills
Ability to handle multiple tasks with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
High standard for ethics and professionalism
Certifications such as C.P.M., CPSM preferred
Up to 20% travel is possible
Education:
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (engineering, physics, and optics preferred).
Experience:
Minimum 6+ years of working in Chemicals Category Management or experienced buyer or engineer
